Short Review: Recorded (2025) by Miroslav Petkov

Arriving in Bulgaria for a film shoot, a Director of Photography and her native driver scout abandoned buildings, unaware of the evil watching them.

Overall, this was a fairly fun and chilling found-footage short. The fun opening that sets up her mission to the city, the introduction to the crew she suspects she'll be working with, and the different tricks to the trade that she goes through while getting ready for the shoot to come serve this well to make it necessary for the tension to arrive once at the shoot. That's the fantastic lead-in to the high-energy chasing and stalking that goes on around the property, trying to get away from the masked killer following them, which has a lot of enhanced suspense due to the frantic found-footage shooting style. The scene breaks a few of the main rules regarding why characters would be filming during that section, with her running for her life while still trying to record everything. Beyond that, this was a really solid found footage short.
