Review:
Overall, there’s quite a lot to like with this one. Looking at it from an exploitation angle, the film features quite an impressive look here at the manner in which the perverted nature of what they engage in gets handled here. Opting for outright pornography, distinctively juvenile pranks and childish behavior, the film tries to steer us toward thinking the entire experience is innocent exploration and discovery of the human body yet instead tends to wallow openly in the extreme sexual shenanigans they indulge in. As they turn from losing their virginity to pornography and then prostitution under the threat of violence from the others in the group, this is quite dirty and grimy that tends to be at odds with the slick cinematography that brings out the sleazy quality on display. These elements keep the film moving along at a fairly rapid clip with the next uncomfortable act mere minutes away which keeps this one interesting enough for those that care for such material.
There are some minor aspects to dislike here. The main feature is the fact that the film offers no real build-up to anything at all, tending to go from event to event and then simply saying that the group wanted to go further but not in any form of natural manners. It tends to revolve around the common trope of one day deciding to do something that would explain what happened to them in order to make the change more fluid-seeming. The fact that this is due to the habit of making the entire thing come forth through the courtroom drama that functions as the wraparound is what drags it down, not only causing the film to feel so disjointed and scattered but also serves an utterly grating and unnecessary voiceover narration on the whole thing that does this no favors at all. Some might find fault with the kids being such smarmy, sleazy and unlikeable types which is the case with the way they behave towards each other but that’s to be expected in this type of effort.
Overview: **.5/5
While this manages plenty of fine work for the exploitation crowd, the rest of the film falls under much tighter scrutiny and either crumbles under its detrimental flaws or just becomes uninteresting. This is strictly for those that want to wallow in the sleaze on display while those that manage to look past that and want more from a film will be left somewhat wanting from this one.
