Apokalypse (2025) by Lutz Geiger

Arriving for work, a rat-delivery person for a store at a packed mall finds that a special virus variant has been unleashed on the citizens in the country that turns them into Karen-like zombies, and must band together with several other survivors to get to safety and stop the creatures.

For the most part, this was a pretty solid zombie comedy. The simplistic setup, focusing on the lives of slacker mall employees who are so put off by their demanding customer that they fail to realize a zombie virus has broken out turning everyone into ravenous zombies acting like viral Karens, gives this the kind of silly and immensely goofy setup to provide the launching pad for the equally goofy antics on display. The series of build-ups to their involvement in the outbreak makes for a funny time seeing the dysfunction in the stores, how the employees with him are interacting around the mall, and the first hints of the outbreak occurring to the rest of the citizens in the mall, all creating a solid storyline starting point.

This signals the initial outbreak and how the zombies start taking over the mall, forcing them into a series of madcap scenarios involving a series of attempts to get to safety from the ravenous creatures. This handles the wild action into some comedic adventures, trying to get to safety and handle the threat of the turning zombies who provide a slew of genuinely silly, if still sincere, tactics dealing with the zombies with the threatening advances treated with a sense of silly situations full of commercial situations and plenty of gore. The main issue to be had with this is the approach to this material, where some viewers might not find the comedy funny or hope the story makes sense, which is the main factor to be had here.
