Short Review: Bigfoot Unleashed: Part VII (2023) by Don Swanson

After noticing the destruction of his habitat, the legendary creature launches an all-out assault in defense of his property leading a survivor of several of his previous rampages into a deadly battle to stop it.

Overall, this is a fun if overall unremarkable short effort. Revolving mainly around the central chase through the woods that has some fun escape tactics at play with the survivor trying to get to safety while showing the chasing creature several steps behind her, there's a degree of suspense at play with the relentless nature of the beast trying to catch the increasingly-exhausted victim. That's fine enough with the cheesy costume making for a fine idea overall but not much else is worth it here. There's no real context for the chase outside of the larger film it's going to be presented in since we're dropped into it clean without knowing the other entries in the supposed series, therefore making the subsequent chase lack any kind of urgency. The whole idea of it comes off as a cold open to a different film entirely with the brief running time also taken up with opening and closing credits so it doesn't have room to breathe, leaving this a solo curiosity more at home in its grander home.
