MASSACRE ACADEMY follows the story of college athlete Kris McNeil, one of the only survivors of a grisly series of murders committed two years prior at the hands of a masked slasher known as "Carnie the Killer Clown."
Deeply scarred by the events of that night, Kris attempts to move on with the help of her younger sister Maggie and her therapist Dr. Shayne. However, as the two year anniversary approaches, a new murder spree begins, forcing Kris to face her demons head-on and stop a brand new killer hellbent on carrying on Carnie's blood-soaked legacy.
In the mold of ALIENS and TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY, our lead Kris McNeil gives us a chance to explore the reality of dealing with PTSD, surviving trauma and empowering women to save themselves--following the structure of Maureen Murdock's "Heroine's Journey"--under the guise of an entertaining 80s horror-comedy.
We also deal with issues such as LGBTQ life in the 80s; 80s misogyny; and female self-acceptance. The film will shoot in late summer/early fall 2020 in Pittsburgh, PA.
