-Actress Carol Lynley, best known from efforts like The Poseidon Adventure but who has several genre credits including various 60s and 70s TV shows as well as movies like The Shuttered Room, The Night Stalker, Beware! The Blob and Howling VI: The Freaks, passed away at the age of 77.

-Actor Franco Garofalo, best known to genre fans as the squirrely Santoro from Bruno Mattei's seminal zombie ripoff Hell of the Living Dead but also appearing in efforts like The True Story of the Nun of Monza, The Other Hell and The Scorpion with Two Tails, passed away.

-The legendary Sid Haig, best known to modern audiences as the psychopathic Captain Spalding the head of the Firefly family from Rob Zombie's films House of 1,000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects and the upcoming 3 from Hell but who's genre worked stretched all the way back to the 1960s with Spider Baby and appearances in numerous films from that point on, was involved in a serious accident and remains in the ICU section of a local hospital.
