Review:

This was a wholly underwhelming and disappointing genre thriller. The fact that it's such a wholly predictable and bland storyline that's immensely easy to figure out what's going on is one of the biggest issues here, rendering everything into an unappealing slough to get to an expectedly obvious conclusion. The multitude of scenes here featuring the series of traditional gaslighting elements featuring the constant attempts to mislead her away from believing the truth as the constant focus on getting the setup of the backstory with mental illness that makes her untrustworthy is not that interesting. As it's not interesting to see what's going on playing with so many expected cliches and setups that can be seen coming away quite easily, there's not much about this that comes off as intriguing or interesting with what's going on which allows this one to be somewhat difficult to get invested in.

As well, while it's not as if the series of cliches are bad enough, this one is such glacially placed that any chance at overcoming the issues is swallowed up in a tempo that makes it impossible to get invested in the outcome. What's going on is given quite a sluggish series of scenes offering the kind of underwhelming sense of urgency that has no business taking as long as it does to tell this kind of story where it's as predictable as it is as early as it is. The end result is that it takes far too long to get to the easily-obvious resolution that has no real surprise or intrigue given to try to sell this one even though there's some potential to be had here involving the type of setup that could've worked. The story initially shapes up to be about the kind of psychological mind-games employed against her or the visitations of the figure following her trying to put everything together if it happened or she just imagined everything, but that's not enough to save this one.

Overview: */5
A cliched and generally bland sluggish thriller, there's little about this one that sets itself apart from dozens of other similar items that come about which renders everything that much more underwhelming. It's really only for those who appreciate this kind of formulaic and familiar thrillers or are fans of the creative crew while most others out there should heed caution here.
