Short Review: The City of Dunwich (2023) by Luciano Imperoli

After a strange boating accident, the mysterious owner of a local marina becomes haunted by dreams and images that lead him into a supernatural mystery he might not get away from.

Overall, there's a lot to like here. The imagery and atmosphere of this one are incredibly effective and enjoyable with the hazy look and wind-swept location harboring the look and feel of the old-school Italian genre fare it's clearly aping. That includes the series of hallucinations that feature a rather impressive amount of supernatural antics to showcase the effects of the curse turning everything into an animated object trying to come to life and hurt him that allows for some rather fun times. This does have a rather limiting problem in that the general lack of dialog or context makes for a difficult time to get into this one as it takes a while to understand what's going on. That's not a wholly detrimental factor but it does pop off here.
