Review:

There’s quite a lot to like with this one. One of the strongest features here is the solid starting point letting them get stranded in the woods in a realistic manner and giving a credible overall situation. As we get a solid grasp on their strained relationship early on and the need for wanting to reconnect, the motivation is given quite well which lets the resultant drama in the car following the accident as the struggle to stay alive in the situation starts to become more intense. With escape proven impossible due to the debris inside and the state of the car following the incident, left alone with the freezing temperatures, and a glitchy walkie-talkie to contact her father provides this with a building point to go with.

The middle half of the film, focusing on her survival in the trapped car, becomes quite thrilling as the situation descends into chaos. Although the tactics can be slightly unrealistic, there’s still a thrilling nature to what’s happening with the race to stay warm, outlast the animal attacks threatening her, or safely deliver the baby by herself all the while staying alive in the trapped car. The finale might be slightly divisive based on how it all gets worked out and handled involving the graphic twist at play here, but due to the stellar performance throughout here hardly any of that matters due to the fine work to put it into practice which all manages to bring about a lot to enjoy here.

Overview: ****/5
Despite stumbling slightly with a few minor areas, in the end, this is a highly enjoyable and somewhat thrilling genre effort that relies on several impressive elements to become one of the finest in the scene. Give it a look if you're a fan of these claustrophobic suspense-filled thrillers or are fans of the creative crew while only those looking for a more overt Horror feature might be let down here.
