Short Review: Neighbor Nr. 9 by Wilhelm Müller

Living alone in his apartment, a dangerous psychopath kidnaps a popular internet model and brings her back to begin a grueling series of torturous practices.

For the most part, this was a rather fine short. Employing more of an arthouse approach in the beginning to the imagery here by showcasing the utterly unkempt apartment in a slew of colored gels and off-kilter zooms. There's a disorienting feel on display which adds an air of mystery and unease before getting to the dismemberment featured here.

This unease works well with the second half where he abducts the model and brings her back. The build-up showing the preparations before he gets started to generate some solid tension as well as this one won't be fun or pleasant to go through as the torture is highly brutal and graphic. It may take a while to get going with all the prep-work but that's about it.
