Director : James Dobbins Jones Year : 2021 Country : Australia Alternate Titles : N/A Genre : Exploitation; Mockumentary Plot : After looking into how to go online, a kid and his friend find a series of dark and disturbing visuals about human nature. Review : This was a rather tough and disturbing genre effort. The very nature of the lips being show, ranging from gang beatdowns, live mutilations and dismemberments, executions, and accidents that reveal brutal and obscene acts from various sources reveal a highly uncomfortable experience. The fact that it’s taken from documentary footage leads a realism to the material that goes beyond most genre fare as the detachment that comes about from this approach, especially when it goes beyond the human deaths into highly uncomfortable bodily functions or other antics that include animals at certain points. This creates a generally bleak and disruptive atmosphere that is quite difficult to get through. There are some problems to be had here. Th

Director : David Ryan Keith Year : 2023 Country : United Kingdom Alternate Titles : N/A Genre : Action Plot : Gathered together at their remote mansion, a woman joins her boyfriend at a special get-together with his brother and her girlfriend where they’re introduced to their parents. As the get-together continues, they realize that something is wrong and that the family has drugged and kidnapped the two girls to be used as the next patients in a special blood-harvesting cult looking to use their blood to high-end clients looking for the fountain of youth. Forced to band together to escape the situation when it dawns on them that several clients have arrived looking to collect a shipment, her past as a traumatized abuse survivor allows her the chance to fight back and stop the operation. Director : Scott Walker Year : 2023 Country : New Zealand Alternate Titles : N/A Genre : Creature Feature Plot : After his mother's death, a man and his family head to the property they've just recently inherited and set about trying to repair it while they move in, but when they realize that a deadly creature is living on the property inside of a local water well must try to stop it before it escapes. Review : Overall, this was a pretty solid if troubling genre effort. Among the films' better elements here is the rather fun setup that allows this one to generate a fun overall feature. The familiar setup of the family coming into the property through an inheritance is all fine enough despite that overreliance on the trope, providing the key to get them out to the location while being unaware of the creatures' presence while there's a lot to like beforehand about them discovering the state of the house and surrounding property.
