Indie filmmaker József Gallai, writer and director of independent horror films such as Moth, A Guidebook to Killing Your Ex and Spirits in the Dark, has launched a crowdfunding campaign for his upcoming film The Poltergeist Diaries. He has already started filming with a cast that includes András Korcsmáros, Péter Inoka, Laura Ellen Wilson, Shawn Michael Clankie and scream queen Maria Olsen but is looking for contributions to push it over the top.
Says director Gallai: "Our goal is to release our film worldwide (VOD, DVD, Blu-Ray, limited theatrical) and show an exciting twist on the field of ghost stories. We have already worked with some great distributors that are waiting for our film. 85% of the shooting will take place in October and November 2020. The official trailer is expected to be released in December. Our plan is to secure the first distributor of the film in early 2021."
He says about the campaign, "Indeed, every motion picture comes with a great set of risks and challenges and needs a great amount of preparation and experience to be able to properly handle them. It is more than vital to plan things out in great detail before shooting, therefore delays - if any - in the completion of the film or delivery of perks will be communicated with all our contributors through updates."
Synopsis-
The Poltergeist Diaries is a feature horror film about a young man named Jacob Taylor who vanishes without a trace after moving to an isolated cabin in the middle of the woods. With the help of footage he leaves behind, his family members, friends and a detective try to find answers to the strange events that are centered around him.
